Ultraman Cards

Ultraman Card Game (ウルトラマン カードゲーム) is an official trading card game based on Tsuburaya Productions’ long-running Ultra Series, bringing together Ultra Heroes, Kaiju, aliens, special attacks, transformations, and memorable scenes from across the franchise. The game launched globally on October 25, 2024, with Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese cards produced for different markets. Players build a 50-card deck using Character Cards and Scene Cards, then compete across multiple battle areas to become the first player to win three rounds.

Ultraman Card Game combines strategic level-up gameplay with collectible artwork drawn from television productions, films, original illustrations, studio photography, and special artist collaborations. The Japanese product line includes booster packs, booster boxes, Starter Decks, Extra Decks, Ultra Decks, limited packs, promotional cards, card sleeves, playmats, and collector sets. Japanese booster pack prices have changed between releases, with recent sets officially priced from ¥220 per pack and the upcoming ninth booster priced at ¥242 per pack.

Hot collaborations & Tie-In cards

Ultraman Card Game primarily connects different productions within the wider Ultra Series rather than relying only on external franchise crossovers. Its tie-in products and promotional cards frequently celebrate films, television anniversaries, artists, performers, tournaments, and major Ultraman events.

• Ultraman: Rising Tie-In Deck: Extra Deck 01 adapts characters and themes from the animated film Ultraman: Rising, featuring Ken Sato, Emi, and Ultradad in a ready-to-play deck.
• Marvel Artist Cards: Selected cards use original illustrations created by artists associated with Marvel publications. These artworks have appeared in English products, Japanese promotional campaigns, championship prizes, and Limited Pack 01.
• Yukinobu Tatsu Box Bonus: Booster Pack 05 features a box-purchase promotional Alien Metron card with original artwork by Yukinobu Tatsu, the creator of Dandadan.
• Ultraman Zero Anniversary Products: Special sets such as “Beyond the STARS” celebrate Ultraman Zero through exclusive cards, sleeves, and storage products created for collectors and fans of the character.
• Ultraman Geed & Ultraman Z Special Set: “The Brave Risers” includes five specially designed cards, exclusive sleeves, a storage box, and selected booster packs from BP01, BP04, and BP05.
• Ultra League Tournament Cards: Official shop events, Galaxy Cup tournaments, regional championships, and the Ultra League World Championship distribute participation, winner, and top-placement promotional cards.
• Box-Purchase Promo Cards: Selected Japanese booster boxes include a promotional card connected to the expansion’s featured characters or themes. These bonuses are release-specific and may only be available while supplies last.
• Serial-Numbered Cards: BP08 introduces individually numbered cards produced in predetermined quantities. Each printed number is unique, distinguishing these cards from ordinary parallel versions.

Promotional cards should be evaluated according to their official distribution method. A tournament prize, box topper, purchase campaign card, event card, and general booster card may have very different availability even when they feature the same character.

• Extra Collector Sets: Special sets such as “The Brave Risers” have been released with an official suggested retail price of ¥5,280.

The regular rarity structure used across many Ultraman Card Game booster sets includes C, U, R, RR, and RRR. Certain expansions introduce additional or special classifications:

• C: Common cards forming the basic card pool for characters, levels, and deck support.
• U: Uncommon cards that provide additional effects and deck-building options.
• R: Rare cards featuring stronger effects, important characters, or upgraded treatments.
• RR: Double Rare cards, often used for notable characters or key deck pieces.
• RRR: Triple Rare cards representing higher-rarity cards within the regular set list.
• RRRR: Quad Rare cards introduced in BP05 and used for selected Level 4 or powered-up Ultra Heroes. The rarity returns in BP08 for fusion and combination forms.
• AP, ExP and UR: Parallel classifications used for selected cards with special illustrations, artwork, foil treatments, or premium presentation.
• SP: Special cards appearing in products such as Limited Pack 01, including cards adapted from tournament-prize designs.
• PR: Promotional cards distributed through product bonuses, campaigns, events, and official organized play.
• Serial-Numbered Cards: Individually numbered collectibles introduced in BP08, with each copy carrying a different printed number.

Individual card prices may be influenced by rarity, parallel type, pull rate, featured Ultra Hero or Kaiju, artwork, card condition, competitive usefulness, language, box-bonus availability, promotional distribution, serial numbering, grading, and market demand. Official retail prices for sealed products should not be confused with secondary-market values for individual cards. Prices may vary depending on product type, rarity, manufacturer, and release status.

Japanese vs English Ultraman Card Game cards

Ultraman Card Game launched with official Japanese and English editions, alongside Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese versions. Because the game was designed as a global release, collectors can choose between language editions rather than relying exclusively on Japanese cards to access the core game.

• Card Language: Japanese cards use the original Japanese names, effect text, rules terminology, and packaging. English cards provide translated card text that may be easier for international players to read during a match.
• Booster Pack Configuration: Japanese booster packs generally contain six cards, while English booster packs commonly contain 12 cards. Product specifications, pack quantities, and retail prices therefore should not be compared on pack price alone.
• Artwork Differences: Certain illustrations or promotional treatments may differ between language editions. Some Marvel-artist cards first used in English products were later distributed in Japan through promotional campaigns and limited products.
• Release Schedules: Major sets are generally planned for international distribution, but exact release dates may differ by country or region. The Japanese edition should not automatically be assumed to release earlier in every market.
• Packaging and Bonuses: Japanese booster boxes may use different packaging, card counts, box toppers, campaign items, or purchase bonuses from English products.
• Japanese Promotional Cards: Japan-based shop campaigns, championships, Ultra Series events, and product-purchase promotions may provide cards that are difficult to obtain through ordinary international retail channels.
• Collector Preference: Japanese editions appeal to collectors who prefer original Japanese character names, Japanese packaging, Japan-market campaigns, and products sourced from the franchise’s home market.
• Tournament Use: Players should review the language, deck-construction, and card-legality policies for their local Ultra League events before combining Japanese and English cards in a competitive deck.

Collectors who value Japanese text, original packaging, Japanese booster configurations, regional promotional cards, and direct access to Japan-market products may prefer the Japanese edition. Players who prioritize reading every card effect without a translation reference may find the English edition more convenient. Both are official editions, so the best option depends on whether the cards are being purchased primarily for collecting, display, casual play, or organized competition.
