The Fujimi 1/700 Japanese Navy Carrier Shinano Snap Kit provides a full modeling experience with zero painting and zero glue needed. This plastic model kit by Fujimi comes with pre-colored molded parts that mirror the carrier's dark green camouflage, and the snap-fit construction allows every component to lock firmly into place without adhesives or tools. A wave-style sea level base is included, capturing the ship's wake in three dimensions for a remarkably lifelike showcase with little assembly work.
The Shinano was originally laid down at Yokosuka as a Yamato-class battleship, but was redesigned as an aircraft carrier following the decimation of Japan's main carrier fleet during the conflict. She emerged as the Imperial Japanese Navy's largest carrier, yet was sunk just ten days after commissioning by a US submarine attack. This model portrays the vessel as she was at completion, featuring a two-section flight deck, rotating main guns, and detailed bridge work. Four carrier aircraft—Shiden Kai, Ryubo, Saiun, and Sakuraka—are provided, along with pre-cut decals for flight deck white lines, bridge linoleum, and canvas side panels.
